How can I Collaborate?
In our first session of studio work, we talked about how we could collaborate with other people. Thinking about different skills that other people and other professions such as; hair and make up artist, models, other photographers even. As a group we created an ideas blast together, coming up with lots different things.
Collaborating with someone else, as a photographer, is greatly beneficial as it is a great way of boosting team skills and also great for portfolios and work experience.
As we talked about who we could collaborate with I thought about how I personally would want to collaborate with and work well with to create some great photos.
Last year I helped out the Hair and Beauty course by taking photos of the make-up that they had done on each other. I thought about doing that kind of thing again but with one or two individuals and to create together, a photo shoot that would benefit both my portfolio as well as their own portfolios.
Professionals are collaborating all the time. Pro photographers collab with loads of different industries: other photographers, videographers, professional make up artists, super models, magazines/newspapers.
Here is one of my favourite photographers, Rosie Hardy, working in a studio with a model. In this photo she is actually hosting a workshop for other photographers.
